Our vision at Millie’s Youth Services (MYS) is to continue to provide a safe and growing environment for young girls who are unable to be with their families or live independently.
MYS’ mission is to successfully implement the new STRTP model, to further enhance our service and enrichment activities in the areas of academic support, personal development, mental health, self-esteem building, healthy decision making and conflict resolution, and making positive health choices. While maintaining a nurturing and safe residential therapeutic environment, MYS will provide the services that meet the specialized needs of each young girl and their families. We will use the STRTP model to provide a continuum of services that are trauma informed, culturally relevant and age/developmentally appropriate through coordinated management and collaborations among our staff, professional, and organizations who practice like visions and missions.
MYS’ purpose is to achieve a successful outcome for each young girl’s treatment plan and designated goals, while assisting and guiding her to develop the skills and self-esteem which will enable her to become a self-sufficient and productive individual.
MYS’ method will be to provide supervised 24-hour residential care and treatment to at-risk Youth, in a structured therapeutic environment utilizing licensed professional, trained staff, and community resources, e.g., educational institutions, churches, local agencies, and recreational facilities. MYS will utilize a therapeutic residential environment, where at-risk Youth and their families can address issues adversely affecting their relationship(s), reunification, and increasing the potential for independence and success.
Specifically, MYS will utilize a broad range of promising and effective practice models in working with specialized populations, including Youth experiencing trauma and complex trauma; also, the specific types of trauma experienced by lesbian, gay, bisexual, queers, questioning, transgender, sexually exploited Youth and NMD are addressed at MYS. In fact, special attention is to at-risk Youth’s

Our continuing goal will also be to provide professional treatment to at-risk Youth, ages 12 to 18, whose social or developmental issues and/or family situations prevent them from living in a less restrictive setting.
